Tuesday / Wednesday March 1 and 2 writing your own tabloid article cumulative assessment


Learning Targets:
I can develop the topic thoroughly by selecting the most significant and relevant facts, extended definitions, concrete details, quotations, or other information and examples appropriate to the audience's knowledge of the topic.
I can use a variety of techniques to sequence events so that they build on one another to create a coherent whole and build toward a particular tone and outcome...(e.g. tabloids)

Writing your own tabloid article


length: about 250; send along as an attachment;due Wednesday by the end of class. We'll share out on Thursday.If you are using Google Docs, please make sure that I can open your work!

Subject matter: choose a mythological, folk, fairy tale, nursery rhyme characters. No real people

some ideas...please take a moment to refresh yourself with the story, so you know the essential literary elements. The list is in no way exhaustive. Be creative, embellish the tale and expose the truth. 

Do you have? correct paragraphs, lead, quote with attribution, headline, strap line, author (that's you!). Remember to use active voice and correct language conventions: punctuation, spelling, subject/ verb agreement and consistent tense.  Do not forget your picture!
